Client: Mindy Hardwick, Young Adult Author and Troubled Teen Advocate

Project: Wordpress website design, using the Thesis Framework

Description: Mindy wanted a simple website that was easy to navigate through and displayed all her many project (including workshops, books and education courses!) She also wanted something that was fun because she is a young adult author, so I added fun graphics and great colors.

In the Details: Mindy is one of the nicest people.  When I really started working with her and looked through all her work, she is really a person that gives back to the community.  She teaches juvenile detention courses, continuing education classes and offers free products to supplement her books.  Such a great way to use talent for good!  So, I wanted to display her many accomplishments in a way that would be easy to read, but also easy for her to update in the future (ah, the beauty of wordpress!)  Since HOME, CONTACT, and ABOUT ME are the most used pages, I put those at the top and added cute images to make them noticable.  Her social media buttons are also displayed at the top.  The bottom navigation bar displays all the links to her workshops, books, classes, etc.  She can add, delete, edit those tabs as many times as her business changes and grows.  I created each of her pages to look the same–with the same flourishes, headings, colors so that each page would be familiar to her visitors.

This page is from her new book Stained Glass Summer:

Be sure to read Mindy’s Testimonial–She had a client within hours of the website going live!
